About 6 months ago I purchased the FrontRunner Roof Rack Kit for my 2011 Land Rover LR4.
I had two purposes in mind when I purchased this rack system. The first is using in our Photography business for a different camera perspective. Pictured above is my business partner shooting an “off the grid” estate on Palomar Mountain.
Secondly many of our trips fill up the Rover’s interior and it’s handy to carry extra gear on the rack.
In both cases I’ve been happy with the quality and versitality of the Front Runner Rack System. I had extra foot rails installed to make a mostly solid surface for standing and the tripods. The rack comes with a lifetime warranty from FrontRunner.
Below is a video shot after I purchased the rack with some thoughts. Note that I also had FrontRunner install a rear latter for easy access to the roof rack.
While this system is very expensive I believe it’s worthwhile for safety and durability. The one negative is the rack had added more wind noise in the cabin of the Rover even with the wind deflector. Secondly, since I installed mostly a solid surface it’s blocked the two rear sun roofs.
